Year Evaluation

This year, studying As level photography has been a roller coster with both work loads and emotions. I have loved studying it because from a young age I have always loved photography and had a passion and hobby for it. I loved how I could express myself in so many different aspects and please myself with its meaning but others with the way it looked. Unit 1 was very much a learning part of the year. I think the direction we had in this unit was helpful and gave me the confidence in my ideas to go away and expand on the topic. Between the units, we had 3 months of development, this was the most difficult part of the course as I had difficulty expressing myself and my ideas but part of me thought they weren't good enough and part of my didn't like the lack of direction. Unit 2 was where my photography really flourished taking into account my whole year of work. I really took to the concept of contrast, tried and developed many ideas and allowed myself to think outside the box as such because i had that topic of contrast that i could base my photography on. I found myself more committed to the course and exploring new areas of the countries, for example, travelling to London, Brick lane, tube stations and discovering new friends and places. I think I am committed when i enjoy what I am doing and don't feel pressured. In a relaxed environment, I work well. Also, i think i am motivated and have become more so throughout the year.

i found it difficult to edit at first because i didn't know how to use imovie. as i began to play around with it i gained the basic techniques for editing, even though it isn't the best of movies and qaulity it shows a good representation of basic skills and camera shots such as close up and medium close ups ect. Next time i shoot a movie i'd like to get a better story line to improve the watchablity of the movie and better filming to actually make it look professional instead of wobbly and horrid.

This is my video, it wasn't the best work i've done because it was only a quick thing. I enjoyed shooting it, it was a new experience and i learnt how to use imovie. This skill can help me a lot for my unit 3 if i decide to do a piece like this.
